“Bloody Hands” is what you’d call these guys once translated from Nadsat. After four years as a part of the Boston punk and Oi! scene, Rod Rooker moved back to his hometown of Red Deer, Alberta, in 2004 where him and Mike “Rowdy” Rooker started Kroovy Rookers. After a move to Edmonton, a few different bassists, and 18 years, Mikey D Rooker is now the band’s man in charge of the low end. Playing their old school style of punk inspired by the likes of Motorhead, Templars, and Minor Threat, Kroovy Rookers have had the privilege of sharing the stage with classic punk bands like UK Subs, The Vibrators, and The Business, as well as Canadian originators SNFU, DOA, and Nomeansno. They’ve toured all over western Canada and, with a new album on the horizon, aim to bring the noise to eastern Canada and Europe soon.
Keep up to date on your latest news on Kroovy Rookers.
